Responsibilities & Opportunities

The Product Manager position will promote Sika's Water Treatment and Flat Slab product range to specifiers, owners, and applicators in the concrete construction market segment. The idea candidate will be located in St. Louis, MO. 

• Provide product management to specific product lines (or territories) as required including, but not limited to, identifying improvements in products, sales processes, and quality control.

• Generate marketing strategies to improve product penetration into the industry.

• Provide technical presentations on products/services to engineers, architects, contractors, applicators, distributors, independent sales representatives, etc. as needed. Verify construction details and product applicability.

• Penetrate the customer organization to enhance sales opportunities at the highest level possible and build integral relationships. Respond to technical questions forwarded from customer service or inside sales, outside sales, product applicators/installer/users, engineers, owners, etc. regarding the company’s products.

• Exploit information database (Salesforce.com) to track project information and technical questions from inquiry to resolution for maximum return value.

• Make periodic job-site visits for product installation inspections and/or training sessions.

• Assist other sales engineers as needed; train customer service or inside sales regarding most frequently asked technical questions.  Help identify opportunities to cross-sell and assist other Sika target markets with new sales prospects.

• Evaluate advertising and marketing material for technical accuracy as well as attend conventions and seminars related to the concrete construction and water treatment industry.

Preferred Skills

  • BS in Chemistry, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management. EIT/PE License and/or previous sales, project management, or construction management experience is a plus.
  • Structural/civil engineering and/or construction project management experience with the emphasis being in water treatment and concrete construction relative to industrial/commercial construction industry.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to read construction documents and provide quick, accurate take-offs. 
  • Good communication skills in telephone, in-person, and written technical correspondence. Attentive and responsive to our market and customer needs. Ability to make professional presentations in front of large groups.
  • Must be willing to travel (occasionally on short notice). Travel is national and international. Must be willing to obtain a valid passport and driving license; must be insurable under company business auto policy. Excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of management.
