Position Summary

We are looking for an exceptional individual with a growth mindset. You will be given the exciting opportunity to perform projects and tasks related to: Research and development, technical service, support of production, and testing of coating materials for civil engineering and waterproofing. The position is usually requiring short or long term domestic and international business travel.

Main function/responsibility/competencies

  • Research and Development: Lead the design, planning, and execution of R&D projects focused on PU direct glazing technology. This includes exploring novel formulations, materials, and manufacturing processes to improve product performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Product Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize existing PU direct glazing products and processes. Conduct thorough analysis and testing to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance product quality and meet customer requirements.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments related to PU direct glazing. Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation, and drive the development of new products or enhancements to maintain our competitive edge.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams, customers, and external partners on matters related to PU direct glazing technology. Offer guidance on product selection, application techniques, troubleshooting, and quality assurance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all PU direct glazing products and processes comply with relevant regulatory standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations. Stay informed about regulatory changes and update internal procedures accordingly to maintain compliance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of R&D activities, experimental data, and project milestones. Prepare comprehensive reports, technical documents, and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and progress updates to stakeholders at all levels.

Your expertise - Our strength

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master's) in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in R&D within the automotive or adhesive industry, with a focus on  polyurethane-based applications preferred.
  • Strong expertise in polymer chemistry, adhesive technology, and material characterization techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage R&D projects from conception to commercialization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, data analysis software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement in all aspects of work.
  • Position open for both natives and foreigners who masters Japanese language.
  • English skills ideally minimum on intermediate level.
